Rachel Dodson, DVM
Dr. Dodson wanted to be a veterinarian since she was about 5 years old. As a teenager, she started volunteering as a kennel assistant and then took a paid position where she worked every summer even through college. She continued as a full-time vet assistant after graduating from Liberty with her undergraduate degree until she was accepted into veterinary school. Dr. Dodson is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medical Biology from Liberty University before going to veterinary school. Dr. Dodson has special clinical interests in feline medicine, behavior, and exotics.
Dr. Dodson and her husband, Eddie, live just outside of Culpeper with their corgi mix, Mia, and their cat Mr. Sakamoto. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, going on walks with Eddie and Mia, and working on DIY projects around the house.
“I want to be an advocate for pets and help the animals that give us so much love, but cannot speak to tell us when they are hurt or need help. I also want to improve the human-animal bond by helping owners to understand their pets and improve quality of life on both sides of the bond.”
